The Butterfly Run Returns This Saturday Across Ireland

This Saturday at 11am, participants across Ireland will gather for a very special 5K ,The Butterfly Run, a nationwide fundraiser in support of Féileacáin (Stillbirth and Neonatal Death Support Ireland).
The Butterfly Run began in Dublin in 2022 and has since grown in profile ever since. There's no chip timing or race bibs, it’s about remembrance. Participants run or walk the 5K route together, each wearing a t-shirt bearing the names of the little ones they’re honouring.
After two sold-out years in Dublin, and a hugely successful expansion to Limerick in 2023, this year’s edition adds two more venues: Tipperary and Meath. The Limerick event at Mungret Park has already sold out, but runners can still join in at:
- Dublin – Sean Moore Park
- Meath – Porchfields Park
- Tipperary – Templemore Park
There’s also a virtual option, allowing participants to take part anywhere in Ireland (or beyond) at 11am on Saturday.
All funds raised go directly to Féileacáin, helping the charity continue its vital work, providing counselling services for families, supplying CuddleCots and Memory Boxes to every maternity hospital in Ireland, and offering comfort to parents during unimaginably difficult times.
The atmosphere at each Butterfly Run is quietly uplifting. Families walk together, friends share memories, and the sound of gentle applause fills the finish line. It’s a day of reflection, connection, and love – one that continues to grow every year.
