How to Watch the Dublin Marathon

The streets of the capital come alive this morning as more than 22,000 runners take on the 44th edition of the Irish Life Dublin Marathon and the race also doubling as the national marathon championships for Ireland.
The Race
The action starts at 8:45 am on Leeson Street Lower, with the finish line once again on Mount Street Upper. The course winds through Phoenix Park, up Crumlin Road, across the Liffey, and home via the city centre.
This year’s elite field is a serious one. Hillary Kipsambu headlines the men’s line-up, the Kenyan bringing world-class pedigree to Dublin. He’ll be joined by Sweden’s Samuel Tsegay, Ethiopia’s Asefa Tefera, and Bahrain’s Aweke Ayalew, who’s making his marathon debut after clocking a 60:10 half.
With the race also serving as the Irish National Marathon Championships, home fans will have plenty to cheer as David McGlynn, Paul O’Donnell, Ryan Creech, Jake O'Regan, and defending champion Hiko Tonosa battle for national honours.
In the women’s race, all eyes will be on Ann-Marie McGlynn, the Donegal star aiming for another national title, with Nicola Sheridan among those out to challenge.
