How To Watch Irish Athletes In Action In Norway Today

A host of Irish athletes will be in action tonight at the Boysen Memorial in Norway, with a mixture of established internationals and emerging talents looking to continue their strong early season form.

The first Irish athlete on the start list is Molly Daly, who is entered in the women's 400m. The young Kilkenny athlete made her senior international debut at the World Athletics Relays in May and has already achieved the qualifying standard for the World Under 20 Championships in Oregon this August. Tonight offers another opportunity to sharpen her form against quality international opposition as she continues what looks set to be a build up towards Eugene.

Paralympic star Orla Comerford continues what has been an excellent run of form. The Raheny Shamrock athlete arrives in Norway after recording impressive victories in the Para 100m at both the Bislett Games Diamond League pre programme and last Sunday's FBK Games in Hengelo. She is entered in both the women's 100m and 200m and will be hoping to extend her winning streak.

Also lining up in the sprints is Sarah Leahy, who has been producing a series of solid performances throughout the season and arrives off the back of another strong 200m outing last week. She joins Comerford and fellow Irish athlete Katie Bergin on the women's 100m and 200m start lists.

Few Irish athletes competing tonight can match the international experience of Marcus Lawler. The seasoned Irish international remains a familiar face on the European circuit and is set to contest both the men's 100m and 200m. With years of championship experience behind him, Lawler will be looking to continue building momentum as the summer season gathers pace.

In the middle distance events, Lucy Holmes heads to Norway in confident mood after showing tremendous determination to claim victory in Lithuania last week. Having battled hard for that win, she will be aiming to carry that form into the women's 1500m this evening.

Completing the Irish contingent are Ciarán Carthy in the men's 400m and Cillian Kirwan of Raheny Shamrock AC in the men's 800m, both of whom will be looking to make their mark against competitive international fields.
