How to Watch Irish Athletes on Day 2 of the World Relays

Day Two of the World Athletics Relays Gaborone 2026 brings what’s effectively a last roll of the dice for Ireland’s relay squads in terms of qualifcation for the 2027 Worlds in Beijing.
After falling short in yesterday's heats, Ireland’s Mixed 4x400m, Women’s 4x400m, and Women’s 4x100m teams are all back in action today in the repechage round.
The format is simple but unforgiving. A total of 12 teams in each event will qualify for the 2027 World Championships in Beijing, with the first batch of qualifiers already decided yesterday. The remaining places will be filled, where teams must finish in the top two of their repechage heat to secure one of the final four qualifying spots.
In other words, nothing less than a top 2 finish will ensure qualifcation for Beijing.
