How to Watch Nick Griggs & Cathal Doyle In Action In Poland Today

Two Irish athletes will be in action at the Irena Szewińska Memorial in Poland this evening, with Nick Griggs and Cathal Doyle both set to contest the men's 1500m.
Griggs arrives in Poland on the back of another strong season. The Tyrone athlete enjoyed a breakthrough 2025 campaign, claiming Under 23 gold at the European Cross Country Championships, and has carried that momentum into 2026. After a successful indoor season that included races in the United States, victory in the Irish Senior Indoor 3000m title race, and a 9th place finish at the World Athletics Indoor Championships, he made his outdoor season debut at the British Milers' Club meeting last week. There, he clocked 3:57.76 to finish 2nd, and will be looking to build on that performance as the summer progresses towards the European Championships and Commonwealth Games.
For Doyle, tonight marks a long awaited return to competition. The Galway athlete has not raced since the end of the 2025 outdoor season, making this his first outing in around eight months. A multiple Irish international and championship performer, Doyle will be hoping to make an immediate impact as he begins his 2026 campaign and starts building towards the major championships later this season.
