Leevale Duo Strike Gold and Silver at All-Ireland U20 Championships

It was a superb weekend for Leevale AC's throwers at the National U-20 Championships, with two of the club’s brightest young stars making their mark in the javelin.
Katie Kingston added to her growing medal haul, taking silver in the U20 women's javelin on Saturday, just a week after topping the podium in the U19 category at the juvenile championships. Her strong back-to-back performances confirm her as one of the most consistent young throwers in the country.
Meanwhile, Andrew Scanlon continued his unbeaten streak on Irish soil, claiming gold in the U20 men’s javelin with another composed display. Fresh off a week-long training camp in Finland, a nation with deep roots in the sport, Scanlon brought continental form back with him, having finished second in a competitive meet during his time abroad.
Both athletes are viewed as serious prospects for the future by Leevale AC, with coaches at the club full of praise for their attitude and progression. As the summer season heats up, Kingston and Scanlon are certainly names to keep an eye on.
