WATCH: Sharlene Mawdsley's Stunning Three Victories In Five Days

It has been some week for Newport AC athlete Sharlene Mawdsley.
Across five days of racing in Italy and Belgium, the Irish international produced a superb stretch of form, picking up three victories and three personal bests in the process.
The busy run of races began on Wednesday at the Meeting Città di Savona in Italy, where Mawdsley opened her individual outdoor season in style in the women’s 400 metres.
Already looking sharp after Ireland’s relay performances earlier this month, the Tipperary athlete stormed to victory in a meeting record and personal best of 50.52, comfortably dipping under her previous best and laying down an early marker ahead of a huge summer season.

Three days later, Mawdsley was back on the track again at IFAM Brussels and somehow managed to go even quicker.
Racing in the women’s 400 metres on Saturday evening, the Irish star looked composed throughout before powering away down the home straight to stop the clock at 50.17.
The performance not only secured another victory, but also obliterated the PB she had set just days earlier in Savona.
The time represents another massive statement from the Irish international, who now looks to be moving into the best form of her career.

Most athletes would have happily taken the Sunday off after that.
Not Mawdsley.
Back on the track again less than 24 hours later, the Irish athlete stepped down in distance for the women’s 200 metres and completed a remarkable hat trick of victories.
After tracking the early pace around the bend, Mawdsley powered clear over the final 50 metres to take another win in a new personal best of 23.09.
It capped a stunning weekend in Brussels and an even more impressive five day stretch overall.
Three races. Three wins. Three personal bests.
Not bad going at all.
