BK5k Dundrum.
Wednesday night last saw Dundrum AC host their annual 5k in memory of Brendan Kinane. There was a huge turnout with 250 runners completing the fast and flat 5k circuit. Moyne A.C. were well represented by six athletes. First home for Moyne AC was County Senior 3k T&F champion for 2024, Louise Fogarty. Louise finished the 5k in a great time of 18.36 to finish 36th overall. This excellent run from Louise led her to finishing 2nd lady overall. Shortly behind Louise was Patrick Bowe. Patrick finished in 39th position overall and 3rd man over 50 in a time of 18:48. Super stuff Patrick. Angela Fogarty was next home for Moyne A.C. Angela completed the 5k course in 20.28, to finish 80th overall. Angela was also 3rd lady in the over 40 age category across the line. Well done Angela. Caroline Fogarty was next home in a great time of 25.01, to finish in 148th position. Well done Caroline. Martin Kiely was the next Moyne AC athlete to cross the line in a time of 27.01, to take 177th position overall. Another great run from Martin. Mindy Doyle was close behind Martin to finish three places behind in 180th , with a personal best time over the 5k distance of 27.24. Well done Mindy on your PB.

East Munster Schools Girls T&F Championships.
The East Munster Schools T&F Championships for girls took place on Thursday at a wet Waterford RSC. Moyne A.C. were well represented by athletes competing for the Presentation Secondary School Thurles and the Ursuline Secondary School Thurles. First up was Emma Delaney representing the Presentation. Emma finished 4th in her intermediate girls 400m final. This was Emma’s first 400m race on the outdoor track. Well done Emma. Kate Delaney was next up also representing the Presentation. Kate was entered into her second ever steeplechase competition, after winning the county title on her first outing in Templemore a couple of weeks ago. Kate also claimed bronze in the county post primary school championships in the 1500m last week in Templemore. Kate finished in the bronze medal position in the intermediate category to book her place at the Munster Schools Championships on the 18th of May in Castleisland, County Kerry.
Eleanor Doyle was next up representing the Ursuline. Eleanor qualified from her junior girls 200m heat to book her place in the final later in the day. Eleanor then finished an excellent 4th place in the 200m final. Well done Eleanor. Dearbhla Gleeson was also representing the Ursuline. Dearbhla qualified from her intermediate girls 200m heat to seal her place in the final. Here Dearbhla finished in 6th place. Well done Dearbhla. Alana Spillane, representing the Ursuline, had a busy day of competition, going in the intermediate girls 1500m and the 3000m. Alana was crowned county post primary schools champion in the 1500m, and 2nd place in the 800m in Templemore last week. This time around Alana finished 2nd in the 1500m and 3rd in the 3000m. A great day's work from Alana.
Maria Doyle finished 4th in the junior shot put after claiming a silver at the counties last week. Maria also finished 4th in the junior discus competition. Well done Maria. Reiltinn Morrissey was also throwing in the intermediate shot after winning a gold medal in the counties last week. Reiltinn finished 4th. Well done Reiltinn.
To finish off the day Dearbhla and Eleanor were members of the Ursuline 4x100m relay team who finished 4th in their heat.
Congrats to all of the girls on a great days competition in Waterford.
A special mention must go to Emma and Dearbhla as this was their first race back after a number of weeks out because of injury. Hopefully, the rest of the season will be injury free for the girls. Full results will be posted on our socials when they become available.
Burma Challenge Night 3.
This week everyone had to run 5k, all starting together. Liam Kelly was the first male home in a time of 18.33, taking his first win of the challenge. Eileen Ely was once again the First Lady across the line in a time of 19.41. In the team competition Killoran were once again the team to catch, followed by Rahealty and Longorchard. Well done everyone.

Sharon Cantwell opened her outdoor season in impressive style over the weekend at the IMC meet in Morton Stadium. Sharon was entered in the women’s B 1500m race. Sharon finished with a 4 second personal best of 4.54.14 to take 8th place in the race. A great start to the outdoor season for Sharon.
Kilkenny Race Walking GP.
After an impressive 4th place finish at the 123.ie National Juvenile Indoor Championships a few weeks ago Michael Doyle also opened his outdoor season this weekend. Micheal made the trip to Dunmore, County Kilkenny to take part in the Kilkenny Race Walking GP. Micheal raced in the Boys U14 2k event, where he finished 5th overall in a time of 14.03. An impressive start to the outdoor season. Well done Michael.
Regeneron Great Limerick Run.
Lisa Quinlan took to the streets of Limerick on Sunday morning for the Great Limerick Run. A super event that attracts athletes from all over the country, which included a 6 miler, half and full marathon. Lisa opted for the 6 miler today. Lisa completed the course in a time of 50.17. Lisa finished 26th in her age category, 108th lady overall, and 468th out of nearly 6,000 runners in total. An excellent day out for Lisa. Well done.
Spilt the Bucket
Congrats to Trevor Hassett who won €142 in this weeks split the bucket draw. The ticket was drawn by Michael Hassett. National Indoor U23 60m and 200m champion and National Senior Indoor 200m silver medallist Katie Bergin will make her highly anticipated start to the outdoor season this weekend in Belfast. Katie’s last trip to Belfast was an excellent one where she claimed gold in the 200m at the IUAA T&F Championships. Best of luck Katie. Keep an eye on our socials for updates over the weekend.
County U9-U12 & U13-U19 T&F Championships.
A busy weekend is in store for Moyne AC as it will be the turn of our juvenile athletes to take centre stage at their county championships. On Saturday, our U9 - U12 athletes get the time to shine in Templemore. Following on Sunday it will be the turn of some of our older juvenile athletes from U13 - U19 that will be given the opportunity to compete on the track.
