Please add postage to your order if you have any doubt about collecting your Race Number on Friday 18thor Saturday 19th June at our Race HQ in Waterford City. Postage includes your Race Number and T-shirt.

Postage is only available within Ireland. International participants will be contacted about their collection.

The Waterford Viking Marathon returns for its 15th year on Saturday 19th and Sunday 20th June 2027.

Join thousands of runners in Ireland's oldest city, where Viking history meets stunning scenery for a race weekend like no other. With five events across two days, there's something for everyone, catering to all levels of fitness and ability. Whether you're taking on the Full Marathon, Half Marathon, 10K, Children's Run, or the Waterford Viking Run for All, this is much more than a running event—it's a true Festival of Running.

Experience breathtaking routes along the River Suir, run through the spectacular grounds of the world-renowned Mount Congreve Gardens, and soak up the electric atmosphere as you pass historic landmarks, ancient streets, and thousands of cheering spectators. Every step takes you through over 1,100 years of Viking history, with the stunning Waterford countryside providing the perfect backdrop.

Following another hugely successful festival in 2026, we're looking forward to welcoming runners of all ages and abilities back for an unforgettable weekend in 2027.

Can't make it to Waterford? You can still be part of the action by taking part in our Virtual Marathon, Half Marathon or 10K. Complete your chosen distance wherever you are, and we'll send your official finisher's medal and premium event t-shirt straight to your door.

Children taking part in the Children's Run will receive a finisher's medal, with the option to purchase an official event t-shirt for just €12 during registration.

Let’s run through history together — Viking style!

Only national postage available, international participants will be informed about their collection.

*Information about collection of race numbers and t-shirts on Friday 18th and Saturday 19th June at Race HQ in Garter Lane Theatre will be shared with you in the lead up to the event.

*Only race numbers and t-shirts will be posted out to runners taking part in the full, half and 10k run. Race Numbers and T-shirts for Waterford Viking Run for All can be collected Friday and Saturday in Race HQ or morning of the race on Grattan Quay. Children’s Run, t-shirts can be collected morning of the race at The RSC, no race numbers required.

If you would like to transfer to a longer or shorter race you can do so by logging into your Eventmaster account. This can be done till the 24th of May. No transfers after this date.
