Dublin City Half Marathon Transfer Window Closes Tomorrow Night

If you’ve got a Dublin City Half Marathon place and can’t run, the clock is ticking.
The official transfer window closes at 11:59pm on Wednesday night, which in real terms gives you about 24 hours to get it sorted. After that, your entry stays in your name, no changes, no late fixes.
A Very High Demand Event
This race is in serious demand. Plenty of runners missed out in the ballot and would take a place in a heartbeat.
So if you know you’re not running, don’t just let the entry go to waste. Transfer it properly and give someone else the chance to be on that start line.
A no show helps nobody.
The Risks of Transferring Entries Unoffically
Even if you just pick up the nupassing the entry to a mate or a family member, it needs to go through the official system before the deadline.
You can still pick up the number and physically give it to another runner, but it comes with risks. All the important details, including emergency contact information, are tied to the original runner. If something happens on race day, that mismatch can cause real problems. Not to mention the fact it's against organiser rules.
The official transfer process exists to avoid exactly that.
How The Transfer Actually Works
The process itself is straightforward, but both sides need to complete it before the deadline.
1. Log in to your Eventmaster account
2. Go to “My Tickets” and select your race entry
3. Choose “Ticket Transfer”
4. Enter the new runner’s name and email
Once that’s done, the recipient gets an email to accept the transfer.
They then need to:
1. Accept the transfer
2. Fill in their details
3. Pay the €10 transfer fee plus charges
The key bit: the transfer is not complete until they’ve accepted and paid before 11:59pm on Wednesday.
Leave that step unfinished and the whole thing falls through.
A Few Things To Know
- The €10 transfer fee is paid by the person receiving the entry
- Any payment for the actual entry is sorted privately between runners
- Each entry can only be transferred once
- Once accepted and paid, the transfer is final
If a transfer is declined, you can send it to someone else, but again, only before the deadline.
Take Action
If you’re planning to transfer your place, don’t overthink it. Sort it now.
Agree it, complete the transfer, and get confirmation while there’s still time. Leaving it until Wednesday night is asking for something to go wrong.
