Galway Women’s Mini Marathon Returns for 2026 and Registration Is Now Open

On Saturday 10th of January, Craughwell Athletic Club officially launched the 2026 Galway Women’s Mini Marathon. On Monday 2nd of February 2026, the event will, once more, be a celebration of the St-Brigid's Bank Holiday and the club is inviting all Women to run, jog or walk 10K around the beautiful countryside of Craughwell. Every finisher will receive a medal, a beanie hat and a goodie bag!
Talking about the event, Anna Grealish, Women in Sport Lead for Athletics Ireland said ‘It is great to see Women’s only events taking place around the country. This event grows bigger every year and helps support women to get running and stay running. Women’s only events have a very special atmosphere and help create an amazing and inspiring community of women who run together.’
The event is proudly sponsored by Hannah Orthopaedics, Borrisoleigh Bottling Ltd and Salto Systems Ireland. Aisling McLoughlin, Finance Manager, Salto Systems Ireland, said “Salto Systems Ireland is proud to sponsor the Women's Galway Mini Marathon in partnership with Craughwell Athletics Club, supporting an event that celebrates inclusion, wellbeing, and community spirit.
The Women's Galway Mini Marathon reflects values that are central to Salto Systems Ireland, teamwork, equality, and social responsibility. By supporting this initiative, the company aims to encourage participation, promote healthy lifestyles, and champion women in sport.
This sponsorship aligns with the Salto Foundation's work, which supports projects that foster inclusion, empowerment, and positive social impact in communities worldwide.
Supporting local initiatives like the Women's Galway Mini Marathon allows us to give back to the community while promoting values that matter to our organisation.”
Also supporting the event is local company Nuasan and Adrian Brennan, Marketing Executive, stated:
"Nuasan are delighted to be involved with the Galway Mini Marathon for the second year in a row! As a Galway based company, it means a lot to sponsor local events. Our Nuasan Active CBD Gel, formulated with 500mg CBD, chili and natural plant extracts, is sure to go down a treat for those sore muscles and joints post marathon!"
The Galway Athletics County Board are also supporting the event through their ‘Women in Sport’ programme. The proceeds of the event go towards the development of the Facilities at the athletics club which plays a very important role in keeping young women involved in sports but also caters for the physical and mental health of the community by providing facilities for everyone.
If you are interested in taking part on the day, please check their Facebook or Instagram pages and you can register via PopUp races. The club would like to see as many women and teenagers getting involved in the event by running, jogging or walking the course on the day. For any queries, please email galwayminimarathon@gmail.com
