Belfast based Movetru has strengthened its leadership team with two strategic board
appointments as the company prepares for accelerated growth in Ireland, the UK, and the US.
Gareth Quinn, a Northern Ireland based entrepreneur and exited sports tech founder, has joined
Movetru as a Non-Executive Director. In addition, Dr. Chris Rumana, a leading US
neurosurgeon and the Chairperson of Belfast medical-technology firm Axial 3D, has been
appointed as Chairperson of Movetru.

Gareth Quinn
“I see Movetru becoming the standard for movement intelligence in
sport. As we grow, our technology will integrate even deeper into training, rehab and
performance workflows, while our go-to-market strategy unlocks new sports, new
partnerships and that global scale.”

The board appointment follows on from an investment round earlier this year led by Two
Magnolias (UK) and supported by an international syndicate of investors across the UK, Ireland,
and the United States, including US investors IAG Capital.
These appointments bring a powerful combination of commercial experience, clinical expertise,
and strategic insight. Their combined knowledge will play a pivotal role in guiding Movetru
through its next phase of market expansion and supporting the company’s go-to-market
strategy.

Dr Chris Rumana
“Naomi herself is the perfect advocate, with her history, for helping
athletes reduce injury risk and avoiding people being taken out of the sports that they
love.”

The announcement of these two key positions were made at the Movetru Product Launch.
Movetru, celebrated the official launch of its technology on Thursday evening, December 4th, at
a showcase event in their Sports Innovation Lab attended by investors, athletes, supporters,
and sporting organisations from across Ireland, the UK, and the US.

The launch marked the first public unveiling of Movetru’s complete system: a wearable device
paired with an AI-powered app that delivers instant, on-field biomechanical insights. Designed
for athletes, coaches, and teams, the platform provides the depth of laboratory-grade
biomechanics in a fully mobile, accessible format, empowering performance optimisation and
reducing the risk of injury.

Neil McManus, GPA Board Member
“It was a pleasure to be in attendance at the
Movetru launch tonight, the sky is the limit for this company. From a GAA perspective I
know how impactful this can be for athletes, there are 4,000 inter-county players who will
all benefit from Movetru.”

The event featured a display of Movetru’s latest tech, speeches from CEO Naomi McGregor and
CTO Dylan McBurney as well as a night full of entertainment. The night highlighted how far
Movetru have come and where they intend to go next.

Niamh Marley, Ireland 7’s Player
“Movetru really helped during my third ACL injury. I
knew I wanted any percentage gain I could to make sure I could make it back to the top
level. It is an amazing experience and to say I was treated with the highest standard is
an understatement. Movetru is something I would advise everybody to use.”

Founder & CEO Naomi McGregor said:
“We are so excited to be here tonight with our athletes, investors, supporters and team
to celebrate all of the things that come together to make Movetru happen. Tonight has
been a phenomenal event and we are so excited to hit 2026 with a bang”

Athletes, coaches, and sports professionals can now now book on-field and in-lab screenings and
order Movetru devices via the official website.
