The Junction 5K Lands in Antrim this March

A brand new road race is landing in County Antrim this spring.
The Junction 5K was officially launched last week, with Team McKillop Coaching teaming up with Run Anon to bring a sharp, no nonsense event to the roads around The Junction, just outside Antrim town. It is a purpose built, fast course aimed squarely at runners who want a proper crack at a time, not a novelty loop or a meandering tour of the area.
Taking place on Sunday March 8th, the Junction 5K comes early in the season, which makes it ideal for anyone testing spring fitness or even a PB attempt.
There is also a 1K Family Fun Run, keeping things welcoming for younger runners and families, while the main race keeps its focus firmly on speed and performance.
💷 Prize Money
In the men’s race, the overall winner will take home £100, with £75 for second and £50 for third. There is a £50 bonus on offer for anyone breaking 15 minutes, adding an extra incentive for fast fields. Age category prizes of £25 are available across the 35 to 39, 40 to 44, 45 to 49, 50 to 54, 55 to 59, 60 to 64, and 65 plus categories. A team prize of £100 will go to the top men’s team, with four runners to score.
The women’s race mirrors that structure closely. The winner receives £100, second place earns £75, and third place takes £50, with a £50 bonus available for a sub 16 minute performance. Age category prizes of £25 are available from 35 to 39 through to 65 plus, and there is a women’s team prize of £75, with three runners to score.
