Welcome back to Run Republic Wanderlust! We’ve tangoed through Buenos Aires, laughed our way through Almaty with Borat references, and now it’s time to head to a city known for crabs, The Wire, and locals who will passionately argue about Old Bay seasoning. Welcome to Baltimore, Maryland, home of the Baltimore Running Festival and the Baltimore Marathon, taking place on October 18th, 2025.
If you’re looking for a city marathon with a mix of urban grit, friendly crowds, and a surprisingly scenic course, this one’s for you. Sure, you might not see McNulty or Stringer Bell cheering from the sidelines, but you will get rolling hills, waterfront views, and an excuse to stuff your face with crab cakes afterward.

Why Run the Baltimore Marathon?
- Great City Vibes: Baltimore is a quirky, friendly city where strangers will cheer you on like you’re family — and then possibly offer you a Natty Boh and some crab dip after the race.
- Challenging, Fun Course: It’s not pancake-flat, but the rolling hills make for a satisfying finish. Plus, the race finishes right at the Inner Harbor — one of the city’s most scenic spots.
- The BaltiMORON-a-thon: Yes, it’s a real thing. Run both the 5K and half marathon and earn the right to call yourself a proud BaltiMORON.
- Post-Race Crab Cakes: Enough said.

Things to Do in Baltimore
- The Inner Harbor: The city’s centerpiece, full of restaurants, shops, and museums — perfect for post-race wandering.
- National Aquarium: One of the top aquariums in the world. If you’re too tired to run, go watch fish swim — very relaxing.
- Camden Yards: Home of the Orioles, it’s one of the most beautiful ballparks in America. Catch a game if you can.
- Fells Point: Cobblestone streets, historic pubs, and live music.
- Edgar Allan Poe’s Grave: Because why not visit the master of dark poetry after finishing a marathon?

It’s got a local, down-to-earth feel, a course that will test your mettle, and post-race rewards in the form of crab cakes, beer, and some of the friendliest people on the East Coast.
Come for the run; stay for the crabs and the quirky neighborhoods!
