Welcome back to Republic of Wanderlust! After our exhilarating journey through the tropical landscapes of the Phuket Marathon, this week we're heading Down Under to explore a race that offers both a challenging course and breathtaking scenery.

The Cairns Marathon, set against the backdrop of Australia's stunning northeast coast, provides runners with an opportunity to experience the unique beauty of Tropical North Queensland. Imagine running through vibrant cityscapes, along picturesque waterfronts, and amidst lush greenery.

Race Details

  • Date: 13th July 2025
  • Start Time: To be confirmed
  • Distances: Marathon (42.2 km), Half Marathon (21.1 km), 10 km, 5 km, 2 km Family Event
  • Course Profile: The marathon course consists of a 10.6 km loop, with marathon runners completing four laps. The route takes participants through the heart of Cairns, offering flat terrain ideal for both seasoned runners and beginners. See full course info here
  • Entry Fees: Marathon – $120 AUD; Half Marathon – $87 AUD; 10 km – $38 AUD; 5 km – $21 AUD.
