Nick Griggs to Tackle the 5th Avenue Mile Tonight

Deemed by many to be the most iconic road mile in the world, the 5th Avenue Mile unfolds down the famed stretch of Manhattan, starting at East 80th Street and finishing at Grand Army Plaza. Its fast, downhill‑to‑flat course has produced legendary performances and dramatic finishes year after year.
There have been two Irish winners over the years, Frank O’Mara claimed the men's race in 1985, and Sinéad Delahunty won the women's race a decade later in 1995.
Nick Griggs, having won U23 Euro silver in Tampere last month, will take to the start line this early evening in the Big Apple for the iconic race. The entry list is stacked with middle distance talent, including Yared Nuguse and Josh Hoey just for starters.
