Nicola Tuthill produced the best throw of her career yesterdat, launching a superb personal best of 72.73m to win the women's hammer throw at the Czesław Cybulski Memorial in Poznań, Poland.
The Irish international delivered the winning mark to claim victory in impressive fashion, with the throw also moving her to the top of the Irish rankings for 2026 with a new national lead.
Tuthill's latest breakthrough continues her impressive progression in the event and leaves her just 48 centimetres shy of the long standing Irish record of 73.21m, set by Eileen O'Keeffe 19 years ago.
The 72.73m effort represents another significant milestone for the rising Irish hammer thrower as she edges ever closer to rewriting the national record books.
