Day Four of athletics at the European Youth Olympic Festival (EYOF) in Skopje sees two Irish athletes back on the track, as Joe Burke and Molly Daly look to secure places in tomorrow’s 200m finals.
Both athletes impressed in the heats yesterday and will be hoping to carry that momentum into this morning’s semi-finals, keeping Ireland’s medal hopes alive heading into the final stages of the Games.
Yesterday brought two strong performances just shy of the podium: Matthew Newell finished fourth in the 5km race walk, while Conor Penney took sixth in the high jump final. Both were well in contention, underlining the depth of talent in the Irish squad.
