Mark English storms to 800m victory in Beijing
Mark English produced yet another strong finish in the final 50 metres to win the 800m at the World Athletics Gold Tour meeting in Beijing yesterday. The Donegal man timed his kick to perfection, surging clear in the closing stages to take the win. Nick Griggs Mixed it with the Best on Fifth Avenue
Nick Griggs lined up against a world-class field in the iconic Fifth Avenue Mile in New York and more than held his own. The Tyrone teenager clocked 3:49 to take fourth place, a superb result. The race was won by American record holder Yared Nuguse, but Griggs showed he belongs at the sharp end of these international contests.
