Yesterday marked Day 2 and brought another haul of positives for Team Ireland in Tampere as the young squad continued to make their mark on the European stage. Conor Kelly and Seán Doggett both booked their spots in the men’s 400m final, while Precious Akpe-Moses impressed again to qualify for the women’s 200m semi-final. Dubem Amah, also qualified from his Men’s 200m heat to earn a place in today’s semi-finals.
In the evening, Akpe-Moses put in a strong shift in the women’s 100m final, finishing 7th against a high-calibre field, while Cillian Gleeson fought bravely in the men’s 5000m final. For others, it wasn't to be, but the commitment and effort shown across the team has been clear for all to see.
