Irish Athletes on the Start List for Trier This Evening – How to Keep Track of the Action

A trio of Irish athletes are on the start list for tonight at the Flutlicht Meeting in Trier, Germany, with Sophie O’Sullivan, Shane Bracken, and Brian Fay all in action at the Moselstadion. O’Sullivan goes in the women’s 800m, Bracken takes on the men’s 1500m, while Fay also features in the 1500m.

For O’Sullivan and Fay, this is a key tune-up ahead of the World Athletics Championships in Tokyo, which get underway in less than two weeks. O’Sullivan opened her year in style with NCAA success over 1500m, but her outdoor season has since brought mixed fortunes, including a tough run at the European Team Championships and an a withdrawal from Nationals. Fay, meanwhile, saw his grip on the 5000m national title slip to Andrew Coscoran, and will be eager to find sharpness before Tokyo. Bracken arrives off the back of a steady season and will be looking to capitalise on a strong field in the men’s 1500m.

Unfortunately, as it stands there doesn't seem to be a live stream available this evening, but you can follow the athletes’ progress through the start lists and results provided below (Irish time):

⏰ 7:00 PM – 🏃‍♀️ Sophie O’Sullivan – Women’s 800m
⏰ 7:35 PM – 🏃‍♂️ Shane Bracken – Men’s 1500m
⏰ 7:35 PM – 🏃‍♂️ Brian Fay  – Men’s 1500m
