Irish in Action at EYOF Skopje 2025 as Athletics Kicks Off

The athletics programme at the 2025 European Youth Olympic Festival (EYOF) got underway this morning in Skopje, North Macedonia, with Irish athletes already in action on the track.
Ben Sykes impressed early by winning his 100m heat in a swift 10.79, securing his spot in this evening’s semi-final. Isaac Vickers was 6th in his 800m heat with a time of 1:56.14, missing out on qualification, while Destiny Lawal was unfortunately disqualified in the 100m heats.
There’s plenty more action to come this evening, with five more Irish athletes competing in high jump, 400m, 3000m, and 1500m events, and Sykes returning for the 100m semi-final. Full start list and livestream details are below:
