Where Irish Athletes Are Racing on the US College Indoor Circuit This Weekend

The US collegiate indoor circuit rolls straight on this weekend, with Irish athletes again spread across a dense schedule of high profile meets on Friday and Saturday. From Arkansas and Texas through to Massachusetts and Indiana, it is another busy few days for Irish representation across sprints, jumps, throws and distance events.
Razorback Invitational
Fayetteville, Arkansas | Friday January 30th and Saturday January 31st
The action in Fayetteville begins on Friday with Conor Kelly of the University of Texas lining up in the men’s 200 metres, alongside Lucy May Sleeman of Florida State University in the women’s 200 metres. The field events also feature strongly, with Siún Quinn and Elizabeth Ndudi, both representing the University of Illinois, competing in the high jump and long jump respectively. Saturday sees Sleeman back on track for Florida State in the women’s 60 metres, while teammate Nicola Dinan tackles a demanding middle distance double in the women’s 3000 metres and Mile. Abdel Laadjel of the University of Oregon is also listed in the men’s 3000 metres.

Boston, Massachusetts | Friday January 30th and Saturday January 31st
The women’s events take centre stage on Friday, with a strong Providence College presence throughout the distance programme. Niamh O’Mahony and Anna Gardiner are both entered in the women’s 5000 metres, while Jane Buckley lines up in the 3000 metres. Cara Laverty is listed in the Mile, with Maeve O’Neill competing in the 800 metres and Gemma Galvin in the 1000 metres. Claire Crowley of Boston College adds further Irish interest in the women’s 800 metres.
