Seán helps Ireland at Euro Team Championships:
At the European Athletics Team Championships in Maribor, Slovenia, last Weekend June 28th, Hammer Thrower Seán Mockler, alongside fellow Tipperary athlete Newport AC's Sharlene Mawdsley, helped secure points for Ireland in their respective disciplines. Seán placed 12th in the Hammer Throw, securing 5 points for Ireland who would go on to finish in 5th place overall in 349 points in the Team Standings. Another Irish cap & a great learning experience  Well done to Seán and the team.


Ballymacarbry 5 Mile Result:
West Waterford AC had a good turnout of nearly 200 runners on Friday night June 27th at the Ballymacarbry 5 Mile road race with good running from Paddy Cummins in 7th place and 1st O/40 and John Fogarty running well too in 17th place overall Well done Lads.

 

Coillte 10K Result:  

There was a record turnout of 408 runners at the Coillte 10k in Dundrum last Wednesday July 2nd. We had a big contingent of 23 athletes in action from the club with many from our popular Fit4Life group Fantastic Running from everyone(6th Place Prize winner) Brendan Neary 31:18. Waterford Marathon:

Congrats to new recruit Conor Moore who recently completed the Waterford Viking Marathon 26.2 Miles in a good time of 4:18:11 in warm conditions, Well done Conor.

National League:

Well done to Matthew Ryan who represented Tipperary at the National Track & Field League in Tullamore last Sunday July 6th competing in the Men's 1500m where he ran a good race in 6th place in a time of 4:21.10 , Seán Mockler was in action in the Hammer Throw coming away with a victory in 64.00m, he also competed in the Men's Discus placing 4th 32.18m Both athletes added points for their County Well done Matthew & Seán.

Galbally 10 Mile Race:

Good Running by Liam Meaney & John Molumby early last Sunday morning July 6th at the scenic village of Galbally for the Moore Abbey Mooreabbey Milers AC 10 Mile. Liam setting a new personal best for the distance in 27th place overall in 70mins & 7 seconds with John also running well in 95mins & 22 secs, Well done lads.
 

Juvenile Training Update:
The club ended our Juvenile training for this season last Tuesday July 1st where we had a fun obstacle course thanks to everyone that helped set it up, the club will be taking a break from our Juvenile Athletics Training session for the Summer Holidays We will return in late August early when Schools are back and we will begin preparations for the Cross Country Season. Thanks to all our parents, coaches and to the athletes themselves on all their efforts throughout the year so far.
 

Fit 4 Life:
Continues each Monday, 7:15pm to 8pm at our club grounds in Littleton, whether you are just starting out or looking to train amongst a group all levels catered for. All welcome to come and see €2 per session.
 

Tom Kelly & Lizzy Maher Remembered:
Moycarkey Coolcroo AC were deeply saddened to hear of the recent passing of Tom Kelly, Coolcroo, Two-Mile-Borris, RIP. Tom was a great athlete. One of his highlights was as Captain of the Coolcroo team that won the Tipperary Youths title in 1962. He would also go on to represent his County in cross country. He also represented Moycarkey Borris GAA Like his father who also ran with Coolcroo in the 1930s. Tom attended many meetings as a committee member with Coolcroo. He was a highly respected worker with Bord na Móna in Littleton for many years. Moycarkey Coolcroo were also saddened to hear of the recent passing of Elizabeth Lizzy Maher late of Coolcroo and Lattin, Lizzy was one of the last links to the original formation of Coolcroo AC as her late husband Neddy Maher was the first secretary of the club and one of the founding members in 1936.
