Moyne had three athletes competing at Day 1&2 of the National Juvenile Indoor T&F Championships in Athlone on Saturday and Sunday last. Michael Doyle. Having won bronze medal at last year's nationals, Michael was looking to pick up another national podium finish in the boys u15 1k walk. Michael not one to panic put himself in contention right from the starting gun, drawing on all the experience of competing abroad and the training indoors in Nenagh he was well up for the five lap challenge. . With tough competition sitting right on his shoulder throughout the race Michael held on well to win silver and move up one place on last years bronze medal position. A wonderful achievement for Michael, who finished in a New PB of 5m.47.23s. Congrats to Michael and coach Seamie Hartigan on another great performance at national level. Helen Renehan turned in another great performance in the Girls U/15 high Jump also setting a new pb of 1.45m and finishing 7th overall of the seventeen athletes taking part. Third athlete competing was Alana Spillane in the Girls U/18 1500m finishing in 10th position in a time of 5m 11.49s. Well done to all who can now look forward to the outdoor season.
