Streets of Portlaoise 5K – Moyne AC’s Strong Performances

On St. Patrick’s Day, a number of our senior athletes took on the streets of Portlaoise 5k. This is a great course, which finishes in the middle of Portlaoise. Fortunately, the weather played ball and on a dry morning, eight athletes toed the line.
First to finish for the club was Dylan McLaughlin with a superb time of 17 minutes flat, finishing 41st overall. He was followed by Jake Bowe who was 72nd overall with a time of 17:56, and 13th in the junior men's competition. Not far behind, Patrick Bowe crossed the line in 18:57 to finish 114th overall and a fantastic 4th in the M50 category. Just 14 seconds later Louise Fogarty crossed the line, the first Moyne lady across the line in 19:11, finishing 119th overall and 12th in the female rankings. Michael O’Donovan finished 229th in 22:11, ranked 23rd in the M40 category. Caroline Fogarty was 54th in the female race when she crossed the line in 23:14, 315th overall. Mindy Doyle set an incredible new PB when she finished in 24:25, 14th in the F40 category 103rd female. Sandie Byrne was an impressive 12th in the F50 category when she finished in 28:50.
