The European Athletics Team Championships Division 2 get underway today in Maribor, Slovenia, with Ireland back in the the middle division after securing promotion from Division 3 in 2023. Their dominant showing last year saw them finish well clear of Austria, a performance that earned them their place among Europe’s next tier of nations.

Not quite sure how this competition works? Need to get up to speed on the format, the scoring, and what’s actually at stake? You can read our explainer here.

Earlier this week, we revisited some of Ireland’s standout performances from last year’s campaign in Silesia. You can watch the highlights of the men’s victories here and the women’s highlights here.

Today marks the start of a packed two-day schedule, with Irish athletes competing across a wide range of track and field events. The action kicks off at 1:30 PM Irish time and continues right through until close to 7:00 PM.

Below is your full Day 1 timetable of Irish athletes in action complete with event start times, club affiliations, streaming link and how to follow the results live.
