It’s been a standout past seven days for Irish athletics, with Sarah Healy storming to her first-ever Diamond League victory in the 1500m on Friday, Cathal Doyle securing qualification for the World Athletics Championships in the same event, and Mark English rewriting the Irish 800m record books with a stunning run last night.
And the action isn’t slowing down just yet. This afternoon and later this evening, there are three Irish athletes on starting lists that you can watch online:

Jodie McCann, the current Irish 5000m champion, will line out in the women’s 1500m at the Meeting International de Montreuil in the Paris suburbs this evening. This will be her third race of the outdoor season, having opened with a 1500m in Bydgoszcz at the end of May before stepping up to her preferred distance of 5000m in Norway last week. She returns to the 1500m tonight, aiming to improve on her season-opening time of 4:09.78 from Poland.

Louis O'Loughlin, originally from Dublin and a Donore Harriers athlete, now based in the US running for Adams State University, will compete in the men’s 800m at the Kladno Memorial in Kladno this evening. While not his outdoor season debut, this marks his first track outing on this side of the Atlantic. He’s had a solid spring campaign, including races at the Bryan Clay Invitational and the NCAA Divisionals in Colorado just over two weeks ago.
Sophie Becker – Women’s 400m

Sophie Becker, European silver medalist in the women’s relay from last year’s Rome championships and current Irish 400m champion, is the second Irish athlete competing in the women’s 400m at the Kladno Memorial tonight. This marks her third outdoor track appearance of the season after strong performances at the IFAM meet just over two weekends ago, where she finished second in both the 200m and 400m in Brussels. Becker will be looking to build on that momentum as she continues her campaign ahead of the upcoming major events.
We wish all the athletes in action every success!
