Success at Nationals, County Championships, and Upcoming Events for Moyne AC

National Juvenile T&F Day 3.

Alana Spillane was our sole representative on the final weekend of the National Juvenile T&F Championships in Tullamore. Alana took part in the 1500m final finishing sixth overall in anew PB time of 4m 56.52s.

National Track & Field League Final Tullamore

Moyne AC had four athletes Emma and Kate Delaney and Katie Bergin on the victorious women's team and Dylan McLoughlin on the men's team. For twins Emma and Kate Delaney this was their first time on the Tipperary team and how well both performed, both ran pb's in their events, Kate rand 8m 42.30s taking over nine seconds off her previous time and gaining six valuable points for the team. Emma keeps clipping her 400m time running 62.50s and running the third leg of the 4x400m relay where Tipp finished second. Katie Bergin ran both 100m and 200m and took maximum nine points for each event. Tipperary were crowned Champions after finishing runners up for the last two seasons.Dylan McLoughlin was part of the Tipperary mens 4x400m relay team who won bronze medals. Well done to all.

County 10 Mile Road Championships

The County 10 Mile Road Championships took place in Fethard on Sunday morning. An early start for the athletes but finally a perfect summers morning awaited. By all accounts it was a testing course with a number of tough hills. Results were as follows. Eileen - 2nd Lady over all - 67:41 - 26th Overall. Packie Bowe - 2nd O50 men - 69:06 - 32nd overall. Brian Carroll - 7th O40 men - 69:27 - 35th Overall. Well done everyone.

National U23 T&F Finals Tullamore

Katie Bergin will return to the track on Saturday Next to take part in the 100m and 200m and attempt to defend her 100m title won last year. Best of luck.

National Masters T&F Finals

Ber Spillane will be our representative in the 200m and 400m in the W/40 category, Ber is one of the clubs most experienced athletes at this level and has been turning in some very good performances during the season. Best of luck Ber.

National Half Marathon Titles up for Grabs

This years National Half Marathon will be hosted by North Cork AC and is being held in conjunction with the Charleville Half Marathon this Sunday September 15th at 10am. Starting in Charleville, the course runs towards Kilmallock, before finally finishing in Charleville. Ryan Creech (Leevale) and Siona Heaslip (An Riocht) are amongst the pre-race favourites, with plenty more talented runners ready to battle for gold with them.
