New Corkagh Park 5K Combines Scenic Running With A Good Cause

The Dublin running scene gets a new addition this May. On Sunday, May 24th, the inaugural Feed Our Homeless 5K will take place in the beautiful surroundings of Corkagh Park, offering participants a chance to get active while supporting one of the city’s most vital charities.
Supporting Dublin Families
Founded in 2017, Feed Our Homeless has grown from a local soup kitchen into a large-scale food bank and advocacy service. Natasha Morgan, the charity's CEO, explains that the event is about more than just fitness.
“At its heart, the event is about community, compassion, and ensuring that no one is left behind,” says Morgan. “Knowing that there are people in the community who care enough to come out and support the charity is hugely meaningful. For the individuals and families we help, it sends a powerful message that they have not been forgotten.”
The Course: A Scenic Two-Lap Loop

The race kicks off at 10:00am sharp, with the start line located near the St. John’s Wood Carpark (Dublin 22). For those familiar with Corkagh parkrun, the route follows a similar format, featuring a large opening loop followed by a smaller finishing loop
“The park itself provides a relaxed and scenic setting, with wide pathways, open green spaces, and lakes,” Morgan notes. “It’s primarily a flat route, making it ideal for runners aiming for a fast time, while also being very manageable for beginners and walkers.”
Entry Options: Solo or Team Relay
Whether you want to test your individual speed or make it a social outing with friends, there are two ways to get involved:
- Individual Entry (€20): Perfect for solo runners and walkers.
- Relay Team of 4 (€80): A great option for workplaces or sports clubs. All four team members run the 5K at the same time, with your chipped times combined for a final team score on the leaderboard.
Every participant will receive a high-quality commemorative running t-shirt, a goodie bag of post-race treats, and full chip timing to track their performance.
Music, Refreshments And More
To keep the energy high, Fionnuala Corbett from iRadio’s Afternoon Show will be on hand as MC to get the crowd warmed up. Beyond the finish line, participants can expect music, refreshments, and a few "inaugural surprises" to mark the first-ever year of the race.
“We focus on helping one person and one family at a time to regain confidence and stability,” says Morgan. “By taking part in this race, every step you take will help make a real difference in the lives of those less fortunate.”
