How to Watch Irish Athletes In Action In Spain This Evening

Four Irish athletes are set to line up at the Meeting International de Malaga this weekend, with opportunities for valuable ranking points, fast times and a chance to build momentum ahead of the second half of the outdoor season.
The most experienced member of the Irish squad is Marcus Lawler, who is entered in both the men's 100m and 200m.
The Carlow sprinter remains firmly in the hunt for a place at next month's European Championships in Birmingham. Lawler has already achieved Athletics Ireland's B standard of 20.61 for the 200m (at the Stratford Speed GP last year) and currently sits inside the qualification rankings, leaving him well placed as the qualification window enters its final weeks.
Also in action are recent Irish internationals Seán Doggett and Arlene Crossan, both of whom represented Ireland at the World Athletics Relays in Botswana earlier in May. Doggett featured as part of Ireland's mixed 4x400m relay squad, while Crossan was a member of the women's 4x400m relay pool. Both athletes will be looking to continue building momentum as the outdoor campaign progresses.
Completing the Irish line up is Ethan Dewhirst in the men's 400m hurdles. The Tír Chonaill AC athlete has enjoyed a breakthrough season in 2026, lowering his personal best to 50.81 and continuing his rise through the Irish ranks. Still only 19 years old, Dewhirst is regarded as one of Ireland's most promising young hurdlers and will be looking to continue building momentum as he gains further international racing experience this summer.
