Dundrum AC Excel at Munster Championships and Local Races

MUNSTER JUVENILE TRACK AND FIELD CHAMPIONSHIPS 

The Munster Juvenile U9 to U13 Track and Field Championships were held in Castleisland, Co Kerry on Saturday and Sunday the 8th and 9th of June. We had four athletes that made the trip to compete in the Kingdom County. Shona Ryan competed in the Girls U11 600m and Long Jump on Saturday and on Sunday we had three boys Tadhg O'Neill competed in the U9 60m and 300m, Sean Fitzgerald in the U10 60m and Long Jump and Ruairi O'Neill in the U11 60m and 600m. All gave a good account of themselves finishing in the middle of fields of over 80 athletes so well done to them. Next weekend we have the Munster U14 to U19 in Waterford and we hope to have some athletes competing in that.

NEW INN 5K - MARY DOYLE MEMORIAL 

The New Inn 5k which is in memory of Mary Doyle who was heavily involved with juvenile athletics in the county was held on Saturday, June 8th. This is a lovely course with a very hard uphill 1km finish. We 6 athletes compete. First home for the club was 12th Ruaidhri Devitt 19:42, next was 15th Jim Hally 20:18, 20th Tommy Byrnes 20:53, 24th Emily Leahy 21:15, 28th Tony Delaney 22:21 and 45th Declan Hogan 24:00.

DANESFORT 10 MILE

The Mile Marker was held on Sunday, 9th of June in Danesfort, Co Kilkenny. The race hosts a 5k, 5 Mile and 10 Mile to raise funds for St Michael's NS. Linda Grogan had a fantastic race to be 8th overall and 1st Woman in a time of 1:04:46. Huge well done to Linda.
