Letterkenny AC In Action in Bundoran 10 Miler and Ulster Indoor Championships

Last weekend’s Bundoran 10 miler was very well supported by LAC members. On a day of blustery, biting winds coming off the Atlantic, a number of excellent performances were achieved.

Congratulations to our club captains, Noeleen Scanlan and Eoghain McGinley.

Noeleen was the convincing winner of the women’s race running a superb time of 58.40 while Eoghain was the overall winning athlete running an excellent time of 56.20. It was very satisfying for the club to take the top spots in each race.

Ciaran McGonagle ran 57.00 to finish 4th overall, Paul Cullen 58:14 finished 9th, Kieran Crawford 1.00.46, Patrick Brennan 1.02.09, John Foley 1.02.44, Darren Price 1.02:59, Cian Friel 1.03.50, Paddy Friel 1.04.39, Eimear Gormley 1.06.13, Liam Tinney 1.07.59, Mark Nee 1.08.51, Sean McFadden 1.09.10, Mark McFadden 1.11.48, Stephen Shiels 1.12.39, Ciaran O’Donnell 1.12.52, Derek Campbell 1.12.55, Manus McFadden 1.13.37, Peter Gallagher 1.13.58, Derek Wilson 1.15.03, Adam Rankin 1.16.23, Patrick McFadden 1.18.56, Christopher McMenamin 1.19.06, Mairead Cullen 1.20.31 and Samuel Rankin crossed the line in 1.22.10.

Well done Philip McGee who was the winner of the Ulster 1500m U19 title at the Indoor Championships.

LAC meets Tuesdays at 6.30pm for an interval running session, Thursday evening for a hill run at 6pm, and Sunday morning at 8am for a long run.

All runs start at the Aura. All levels catered for and encouraged.

Fit 4 Life which is run by LAC in conjunction with the Donegal Sports Partnership takes place every Monday at 5.45pm on the track at the Aura Leisure Centre Letterkenny.

The aim of the programme is to reach out to those who wish to improve their fitness and all are most welcome any Monday they choose to attend.
