National Indoor Track & Field League
Round 1 of the National Indoor League took place in the NIA Arena in Abbotstown Co. Dublin. on Saturday, January 6th; We had the Ryan Siblings of Anna & David representing the club. Up first we had 400 metre Runner David Ryan who was in action in the shorter sprint distances of 60 metres and 200m for sharpness and speed in preparation for the season ahead. David was 1st in heat 3 of the 60m in 6.94 seconds and was 1st in heat 3 of the 200m in 22:08 Great stuff Well done David. Anna Ryan placed 2nd and set a New Personal Best of 12.17m in the Triple Jump which is also a new Women's Munster U23 record to boot A great start to the year and set on the same day as Nollaig Na mBan which is a traditional holiday in Ireland also known as Little Christmas or Womens Christmas a dedicated day to Women for All their hard work throughout the year, Very appropriate, Well done Anna Super Stuff, Round 2 of the National Indoor League takes place on January 14th.
County Indoor Track & Field Result
Well done to Matthew Ryan and Conor Keating who represented the club in the Mens 3,000m at the Tipp Indoor Championships in Nenagh last Sunday, January 7th both runners gave it a good go finishing in 1st and 2nd place respectively Matthew in a time of 9:44.8 and Conor in a time of 9:46.4, Well done Lads.
Mile Dash Result
On Saturday, December 30th Matthew Ryan took part in the MooreAbbeyMilersAC Mile Dash Challenge in Galbally Village, Placing 2nd overall in a good time of 4:51 Well done Matthew.
Sympathies
Moycarkey Coolcroo AC were Deeply Saddened to hear of the recent passing of Bill Gooney RIP, late of Ballytarsna Horse & Jockey. Bill was an accomplished all-round athlete both as a hurler and as a cross-country runner for Moycarkey Borris. A tough and honest competitor with a love for his parish. Sincere Sympathies to his Family, Neighbors and Friends, Ar dheis dé Go raibh a anam dilís.
