Run For Your Life!

January 25, 2024

While the Galway Cross Country Series takes a short break before Week 5, runners in the area may be desperate to scratch that itch and run alongside like-minded people. If that is the case, Tribal Running may have the solution for you.

Tribal Running host free adult training evenings every Tuesday and Thursday in Doughiska Park, County Galway. Run Republic spoke to Sean McDermott of Tribal Running about the sessions and more.

'The Run For Your Life sessions, in association with Merlin Woods Sports Clubs, are on each Tuesday and Thursday evening. (Training resumes next Tuesday, January 30th!)

'Participants are asked to walk or jog from 7.15pm with a meet up at 7.30pm for  a dynamic warm-up, followed by a structured session which is suitable for all fitness levels.

'It's fun, there is good banter and most of all, everyone agrees they wouldn't get it done on their own or get as much out of it solo.'

'We have a huge range of ages and fitness levels training together. Everything from guys and gals who are winning races, to people trying to get moving again.'

Each session is held by an Athletics Ireland certified coach, meaning the best possible sessions are being put together each and every week and the Run For Your Life initiative is really thriving as a result.

If people sign up to Run For Your Life and catch the running bug and feel like they want to test themselves in competition, Tribal Running offers the opportunity to link up and join local clubs. This can lead people to go on to compete in County, Provincial, National or local races and get the opportunity to experience the full menu of events that Athletics can offer.

If you are in Galway and want to get active, there may be no better place to start than with Tribal Running. Run For Your Life
