Strong Performances Shine Through at the Rahan Woods 9K

RAHAN WOODS 9K

The Rahan Woods 9km was held on Sunday, 26th September in Mallow, Co Cork on a wet cold day. It is an IMRA and had 300m of climbing.

We had 3 athletes competing. 

First home for the club was 1st Barry Hartnett 36:12 and was 1st O40.

Next, was 16th Jim Hally 44:12 and was 1st O55.

Finally, 48th Michael Moore 50:24 and was 1st O60.

Hiko Tonosa equals the Irish Half-Marathon Record

It was a busy weekend for Irish athletes abroad. In Saville, Hiko Tonosa (DSD) equaled the Irish half-marathon record set by Efrem Gidey in Copenhagen last September. Two athletes were competing at the World Athletics Indoor Tour meet in Nantes; Mark English over 800m and Somer Lecky in the High Jump. Eric Favors was starting his indoor season at the Jablonec meeting in Czechia, while Elizabeth Ndudi followed up her 6.42m season opener from two weeks ago with another Long Jump competition at the Illinois Armory in Champaign, Illinois. Let the Schools Cross-Country Season Begin

The Irish Schools 2025 Cross Country season has begun with some of the preliminary qualification competitions being held last week and the remainder due over the next. From the inaugural senior champions of Peter McManus and Vera Sherry to the 2024 champions Cormac Dixon and Anna Gardiner, there have been some incredible winners. Who can we expect in 2025.
