County U23 & Master XC Championships.

While the indoor season was opening for some today the curtain came down on the 2024 cross country season for some of our athletes.   Fethard was the venue for the County U23 & Master XC Championship. An interesting course awaited the athletes with some sharp hills, tight corners and logs to hurdle. First up were the ladies who were tasked with a two lap course. Eileen Ely led the way for the Moyne A.C. ladies running strongly throughout to finish 3rd overall and 3rd lady in the over 40 category. Next across the line was Lisa Quinlan. Lisa once again put a great performance together finishing 3rd in the over 35 category. Well done ladies on a great cross country season. In the men’s race Dylan McLaughlin was our sole representative. Dylan raced strongly and saved a big effort for the last 600m to finish in 5th overall and 1st in the U23 category. This was Dylan’s first adult county title. Well done Dylan. Next for Dylan will be the Munster Indoor Championships.

English Indoor T&F & Walks Championships. Sheffield.

Michael Doyle made his way to the British Institute of Sport in Sheffield on Sunday to take part in the English Indoor T&F Championships. Once again Michael put together an excellent performance to knock about 7 seconds off of his PB. Michael completed the 1k distance in 5m 50s.

Club AGM.

The club will now host its annual AGM on Friday the 24th of January at 8:30pm in the club house. Any motions should be forwarded to club secretary Michelle Percy by Tuesday the 21st of January. We encourage club members and parents to attend. All members are welcome to attend. As a volunteer based organisation, the club belongs to all of us. Your voice matters — let’s continue building our incredible club together!

Singlets.

Could any athletes who have a singlet on loan from the club please return them to Eileen at training this Tuesday so they can be organised for the upcoming season.

Tipperary County Indoor Juvenile Championship Entries.

A reminder to all athletes that this Tuesday will be the last day to give entries to your coaches for the Tipperary Championships on February 2nd.
