With Christmas Eve less than two weeks away, this weekend may be your last chance to get out and race before the festivities begin. This weekend we have three races for you to choose from and they cater to people of all abilities and none, so get out there and join the winter runners!
Sunday is the day where all these events take place, and they are all being held in different counties. The first race this weekend is the National Senior 35km and Master 10km Walk Championships 2023. The event takes place in St. Annes Park, Raheny, Co. Dublin, and kicks off at 10am. You can learn more about the event here!
We’re getting festive with our next two entries which also take place this coming Sunday, December 17th. The Drogheda Christmas 5k, hosted by Drogheda & District AC has been described as ‘the most exciting event of the holiday season’ and kicks off at 11am from the Lourdes Stadium track. The ‘flat and fast’ 5k also finishes at the same point. This family event also urges you to bring your children as they can take part in their very own ‘Santa Dash’! You can head over to our very own Race Calendar here to learn more!
Finally, we take a look at another festive race in the Kilkenny Santa Run, taking place on Sunday December 17th. Taking place over a 5k and 2k distance, this event is family friendly, as well as dog friendly! ‘Dress to impress in all your Santa, reindeer and elf’s outfits - there will be prizes will go for best dressed family, person and dog!’ There are prizes for the top finishers and a medal for all children on the day. You can sign up by following the link here.
With a little bit of something for everyone, why not get out this weekend for a race before the Christmas countdown truly begins!
