Moycarkey Coolcroo AC Club Notes - May 15th

Tipperary County Juvenile Track & Field: 
Well done to all participating athletes who represented the club with great distinction in sunny Templemore last Sunday May 10th, They are a credit to the club ! Congrats to Lauren Casey who took back 3 medals for the club. U9 300m gold (24 athletes from all over County) U9 60m silver (32 other athletes) Also huge congrats to the brilliant U9 4x100 relay team of  Sophie Sheppard, Tessa Lee, Millie Healy & Lauren Casey who all took home a Silver medal. !It’s a reward for all the consistent training throughout the year and great to see the club competing again in the relay events. The Day also saw great performances from Darragh Delaney (Boys U9), Alannah O'Reilly Girls U10), Cathal Care & Jack Moloney Boys U10), Sean Casey & Diarmuid O'Reilly Boys U12).Thanks to all the coaches for the diligent preparation for the event and parents for their support. 


Clonmel Mile Road Race:
This fast mile road race took place on the main streets of Clonmel on Saturday May 9th running under the Castle arch. Denis O'Reilly & Emir Costello both having a good race times of 6:08 and 6:33 respectively Well done Denis & Emir.


Brendan Kinnane 5k:
Great Running in Dundrum last Weds night May 6th ,Amongst a big entry of 372 Runners Mossy Bracken 3rd place 15:32,Donie Bergin 15th in 17:19,Paddy Cummins 23rd in 17:50,Paudie Guidera  46th in 18:44,Ross Kealy 53rd in 18:52,Nikki Kenneally 8th Lady in 19:01,Conor Moore 20mins 39secs,Denis O'Reilly 20:56, Dayle O'Dwyer 8th Jnr Man in 21:56,Mandy Fennessy 22:21,Carmel Horan 22:23,Niamh Ryan 22:36,Emir Costello 23:16,Niall O'Sullivan 23:51,Niamh O'Regan 24:17,Olivia Quinlan 27:56,Eileen Lanigan 28:07,Sharon O'Reilly 28:15,Catherine Gleeson 29:12, Mary Brennan 32:03.Total number of athletes from club 18 (nine men and nine women) Well done to Everyone, Photographer Niall Moran has a large gallery which captured the atmosphere of the event available to view from his facebook page.

Golden Day for Club at Great Limerick Run:
In all we 23 athletes representing the club over the 4 races at the Regeneron Great Limerick Run on Sunday May 3rd. In the 6 Mile Race Denis O'Reilly was first home from the club in 47mins & 30 Seconds, The day saw Good running too from Mandy Fennessy in 48:45, Emir Costello 50mins 18secs, Noeleen Brereton in 52:22, Niall O'Sullivan in 54:04, Eileen Lanigan in  56:44, Olivia Quinlan in 58:18, Catherine Gleeson in 60mins & 42seconds, Leah Walsh in 65mins & 45, Mary Brennan in  67mins & 31, Maeve Lanigan in 71:36, Ben O'Dwyer in 72:05,Super Running by everyone & Great to see so many of our Moycarkey Coolcroo Fit4life members, the next race in the calendar will be the BK 5K in Dundrum Village this Wednesday May 6th @ 8pm ,Best of Luck to All running and continued success.
In the Half Marathon  We had 6 runners taking on the 13.1 Miles / 21.1KMs distance. First home for the club in 1:17:48 was Shane Minogue, followed by Kevin Shortall in 1:29:04 who was also welcomed at the finish line by a club member from the past Luigi Ryan who completed the course in 1:31:45, Nikki Kenneally was first woman from the club home in 1:30:06. Paudie Guidera clocked 1:31:27 for the distance, TJ Sheppard completed the course in 1:50:15, Niamh O'Regan ran well inside the 2 hours in 1:57:48.
Super Running by all. Well done Shane, Kevin, Nikki, Paudie, TJ and Niamh. In the full marathon 26.2 Miles Liam Meaney ran a fine time of 3:42:51 on his debut marathon Well done Liam.
One of the Highlights of day was the club winning the Marathon Relay event where four members would pass the baton over at different points over the marathon course it was fantastic to see the club colors immersed in the crowd adulation and furore when all members crossed the line together to welcome in the final baton member Super Well done to Conor Keating, Matthew Ryan, Mossy Bracken & Donie Bergin A moment that will live long in the memory for sure.


IMC Track Meet Result:
at the Irish Milers Club Track & Field Meet in Clonmel TUS on May 2nd, Seán Mockler represented the club Winning The Hammer event with a throw of 63.63m Well done Seán.
Mike Cunningham 4 Mile: The Mike Curley Cunningham Memorial 4 Mile Road race took place in Galbally on Wednesday, April 29th Shane Mullaney ran well in 21st place in 26:15. Well done Shane.


Moycarkey Coolcroo 5K-June 12th:

Club Member in Africa: Congrats to club member Jim Ryan who was one of the athletics officials chosen to help officiate at the World Athletics Continental Tour events in Addis Ababa Ethiopia on the 18th of April & Nairobi,Kenya on the April 24th, Well done Jim.
