Munster Medal Winner:

Super congrats to Evelyn Russell who officially received her Munster Cross Country medal she won as Second scorer on the Tipperary County Team that won Bronze at the Middlepiece last week Well done Evelyn.

 

Tipp Cross Country Bs:

Well done to all our athletes that competed at the County Tipperary Juvenile B Cross Country Championships in Ardmayle Last Sunday November 9th, Representing the club were Briana Hogan Alannah O'Reilly, Maeve O'Brien, Tiernan Guilfoyle, Sean Casey, Christopher Crowe, Super Well done to all our runners, Thanks to Dualla-Ballytarsna-Boherlahan AC  for hosting.

 

Countdown to Our Jungle Track Fundraiser:

We are edging closer to our Jungle Olympic Track Fundraiser in the Dome Thurles on Saturday November 22nd Start time is 8pm. We had our final meeting with the event organizers the Fundraisingevents.ie who went through the layout of proceedings to the Committee and Contestants. The official event programme is being prepared with all our Sponsors names We will have a full rundown when it becomes available. Our fundraising is going great you can see the progress of all our contestants individual fundraising page aswell as our collective total as of writing we are approaching the €22,000 mark of our €50,000 Target. Physical tickets can be purchased at any of the following locations: Clohessy's Garage Littleton, O'Keffee's Newsagents Horse&Jockey, Tully's Nearby Two-Mile-Borris & Corcoran's Bar & Shop Two-Mile-Borris, Tickets can also be got at our club grounds in Littleton on Mondays During Our Fit 4 Life Training from 7pm to 8pm or Tuesday & Thursday from 7pm to 8pm. Thomas Cummins Remembered:

Thomas Cummins was an athlete who ran for Moycarkey in the 1960s some of his highlights included making the Tipperary County Cross country team in 1963, Winning Bronze with the Team at the County Youth Championships in 1965 and member of the team that Won the Junior Championship in Deerpark Cashel. He was also on the team that won Bronze at the County Senior Championship in  Two Mile Borris. In 1967 he ran alongside his brother Donal where both were apart of the team that Won the Fanning Cup in Coolcroo. Thomas was also a keen road runner and a scorer on the team that won Silver at the County Novice Road in 1968 and Won Gold in the County Road U23s alongside athletes like Mick Gooney, Seamus Costello, Billy Ryan, Danny Butler and Tom Heffernan. His athletic spirit live on through his family His son Paddy who is an an experienced & established senior runner with the club, his son in law Padraig is one of our Juvenile coaches having taken to road running himself in recent times and Thomas's grandchildren Anna & Christopher also run as Juvenile members. Deepest Conolences to his Family, his wife Joan his children Marie , Angela, Pat, Sarah and Seamus, his brother Donal and sister Helen.

 

County Uneven Age & Interm XC Results:

Held in the Middlepiece cortesty of the Hayes Family On Sunday October 26th The club hosted the Tipperary Juveniles Un-Even Ages and Intermediate XC. We had a strong contingent of athletes competing Super Well done to all our runners Special mentions to medal winners Evelyn Russell in the Girls U9s and Cathal Carey in the Boys U9s Congrats to all who represented the red and black striped vest including: Breena Hogan, Alannah O'Reilly, Evelyn Russell, Willow McGovern, Ollie Moran, Conor Stapleton, Rose Conway, Maeve O'Brien, Maria Stapleton, Tommy Butler, Sean Casey, Eoin Conway, Tommy Doran, Diarmuid O'Reilly, Priya McCormack-Ryan , Lexi Daly & Christopher Crowe. Shane Mullaney represented the club in the Mens Intermediate race but unfortunately had to withdraw due to injury.

 

Munster Cross Country Championships: 

Took place last Sunday November 2nd. The club hosted our 2nd Munster & 3rd Cross Country Championship this year with the Un-Even Ages XC. Thankfully the weather held up with good ground and sunny conditions for running, The Girls U9s 750metres was the first race of the day which saw well over a 100 athletes take part, Evelyn Russell ran a stellar race to finish 22nd overall in a fast time of 3mins and 8 seconds and was 2nd scorer on the Tipperary County team that won the Bronze medals, Ruth McCormack ran well too in 3mins 45 seconds with Briana Hogan in close proximity in 3:49 and Julie Shortall completing the quartet in 4:06 The Girls did well placing 16th Club in Munster. In the Boys U9s Cathal Carey ran a very good race to finish in 31st place out of 118 runners in 2:59 and Was 5th scorer on the Tipp County team the placed 4th. In the Boys U11s Race Sean Casey had just under a mile to run in the 1500m he finished strong over the closing stages placing 113th out of 155 runners in a good time of 5:18 to round off a good day for the club it's always good to see the club represented especially on home soil Super Well done to Everyone. Kind thanks to the Hayes' Family of Middlepiece for Hosting. 

 

Halloween 5k:

Well done to Denis O'Reilly and Mandy Fennessy who ran the Halloween Night Run 5k in Limerick City on October 30th in good times and placings of  23rd & 34th in 20:49 & 22:53 respectively.

 

Dublin Marathon Result:

Fantastic Running from Moycarkey Coolcroo Runners On Sunday October 26th at the Dublin Marathon amongst a massive crowd of 12,494, Mossy Bracken ran a great race to break under the 2:30 barrier for the first time in a Personal Best time of 2:29:54 and was a credible 26th in the National & 35th place overall, Matthew Matty Ryan gave it his all and ran his best Marathon to date running a big PB of 2:31:38 and placed a very good 42nd in the National & 54th place overall Both Mossy and Matty put a tremendous amount of effort in training racking up the miles great to see it paying off, it was a day for PBs with Donie Bergin receiving an early Birthday present running a big personal best of 2:49:50, with Shane Minogue also earning a big PB of 2:50:40, with Sean Healy earning another medal to add to his collection battling to the finish line in 3:16:56, In the Team event the club placed a valliant 11th place out of 144 teams Brilliant Running by Everyone.
