Munster Half Marathon League Returns

This weekend, adventure and running fanatics will meet for the highly anticipated IMRA Munster Keeper Hill - Killoscully Half Marathon. Scheduled for Saturday, August 3, 2024, the race will kick off at 11am. This event marks the fourth race in the Munster Half Marathon League 2024, a series that has captured the imaginations of runners across the region.

The Keeper Hill - Killoscully Half Marathon is generating significant buzz, with 96 entries already sold at the time of publishing out of a capped limit of 100. This high demand underscores the event's popularity and the allure of its challenging and picturesque course.

Runners can look forward to a diverse and captivating route that promises to test their endurance and showcase the stunning Munster landscape. The race features a mix of forest roads, single tracks, and open mountain terrain. Participants will navigate parts of the Ballyhourigan looped walk and the renowned Slieve Felim Way. The highlight of the course is the ascent to the summit of Keeper Hill. The climb, which traverses open mountain terrain, is noted for its excellent underfoot conditions, making it a memorable challenge.

Once at the summit, the route transitions to forest roads for the descent, offering a fast-paced finish over the last five miles. This final stretch promises a swift and exhilarating conclusion to what is set to be an unforgettable race.

John Kinsella, the Race Director, is at the helm of this event, ensuring that every detail is meticulously planned and executed.
