Moycarkey Coolcroo AC Notes - March 2nd

Anna & David Compete @ All Ireland Indoor Track & Field:

These National Indoor Championships took place in Abbotstown, Dublin last weekend, it was great to see our club colors represented and competing with the best athletes in Ireland. The Mens 400m featured 7 Heats with the winner of each going through the next round a few hours later David Ryan got through the first round winning his heat comfortably in 49.20 he then faced a tough test in the Semi Final  in what was a very tight race with the top 3 runners neck and neck approaching the final lap David battled away to the finishing line despite running faster than his heat he just missed out on qualifying for the final in 3rd place in 48.69. Great running from David even though he'll be disappointed i'm sure he'll be back again for the outdoor season. His younger sister Anna Ryan competed in the Women's Triple Jump Winning the Bronze medal in a close contest with a jump of 11.49m with International Women's Day coming up on March 8th I'm sure she'll inspire the next generation of young athletes to aim high and reach for the stars. Congrats to David & Anna Fantastic to see the club represented on a National stage.

Sports. Kind Thanks to Perri Williams & GMU for photography.
