Just two are in action on Saturday. First up is Nicola Tuthill, who begins her campaign in the women’s hammer throw shortly Tuthill enjoyed an outstanding 2025 season, winning silver medals at both the World University Games and the European U23 Championships. Having already secured qualification for the European Championships in Birmingham, today’s competition offers a strong early season test as she begins building momentum for the summer ahead.

Anna Gavigan is also in action in the afternoon in the women’s U23 discus. The Irish thrower claimed silver in the event at the 2023 European U23 Championships and will be aiming to build on that success when she steps into the circle in Nicosia this afternoon.

Back on home soil, the National U20 and U23 Indoor Championships take place today at the TUS International Arena in Athlone. The meeting traditionally provides a platform for some of Ireland’s best up and coming athletes, with many of the country’s next generation talents set to compete across a full programme of track and field events.
