WATCH: Abdel Laadjel’s U23 Indoor National Record Breaking 5000m Run

Abdel Laadjel’s indoor season has picked up exactly where his cross country campaign left off. The Oregon athlete produced another statement run at the Sharon Colyear Danville Boston University Indoor Season Opener last weekend, clocking 13:24.17 for 5000m to finish tenth in a stacked collegiate field. The time lowers his own Irish Under 23 indoor record from the same meeting last year by more than five seconds and moves him up to fourth on the Irish senior indoor all time list for the distance.
After very solid autumn form that included Big Ten cross country victory and top ten finishes at both the NCAA Regional and NCAA Championships, there is no hint of a slowdown as Laadjel transitions smoothly into the track season.
