Portumna Forest Run 2025: Running, Dance & Community Spirit Will Unite

On Sunday, 14 September 2025, Portumna Forest Park will buzz with excitement as the Portumna Forest Run 2025 will unfold - a joint celebration of fitness, culture, and community. Organised by the Powerforce Parents Association and the Stephanie Power School of Irish Dance in collaboration with Tribal Running, the event will offer both a scenic 5 km walk/run (11:00 am) and a challenging 10 km race (11:15 am).

Event Highlights & Festive Atmosphere

Whether participants will aim to enjoy a leisurely stroll or will strive for a competitive finish, chip timing will ensure accuracy for all entrants. The race trail will be dotted with refreshment stations to keep energy levels high, and a post-race social area will offer delicious refreshments and vibrant cheer.

Adding flair to the day, talented students from the Stephanie Power School of Irish Dance will captivate runners and onlookers with lively performances, bringing a rich cultural element to the event and emphasising local talent and pride.

Eco-Friendly Recognition for All Ages

Sustainability and inclusivity will be key themes. Eco-friendly medals will be awarded to the top three finishers (male and female) in the adult 5 km and 10 km categories (ages 16 and over), as well as to the top three boys and girls in the 15-and-under 5 km race.

A Noble Cause: Supporting Young Irish Dancers

Proceeds from the event will be dedicated to supporting the pupils of the Stephanie Power School of Irish Dance as they prepare to travel to Chicago in 2026. This fundraising initiative will embody the spirit of community - bringing people together to support cultural exchange, personal growth, and artistic opportunity.

Thanks to the Team Behind the Run

A heartfelt thanks will go to:

  • Sean McDermott (Tribal Running), whose expert event direction will ensure smooth operations and an enjoyable experience for all.
  • The Powerforce Parents Association and the Stephanie Power School of Irish Dance for their collaborative energy and passionate performances.
  • Every volunteer, runner, and family member who will join forces to create a memorable, inclusive experience.
