Menapians Athletics Club Hosts Annual Road Race in Wexford Town
While the spotlight this Sunday will mostly be on the Dublin City Marathon, an exciting event is also taking place in Wexford town. Menapians Athletics Club is hosting their much-anticipated annual four-mile road race, attracting local runners and supporters alike.
This year, the club has announced that a share of the proceeds from the event will go to Wexford Women's Refuge, a vital local charity that has provided significant support to women in the southeast. The refuge provides crucial support services, shelter and protection to women and children affected by domestic violence.
In a nod to Wexford’s deep historical roots, the race will start on 1798 Street. From there, runners will follow a scenic route that takes them towards the Ferrycarrig Railway Bridge, before doubling back to finish at the Wexford Harbour Boat and Tennis Club. This course not only provides a challenge for participants but also offers beautiful views of the town’s landmarks and waterways.
There will be plenty of parking available near the event area, ensuring easy access for all attendees. Those interested in participating are encouraged to register online via the provided link. The event promises to be a fantastic day for both fitness enthusiasts and those looking to support a worthy cause in their community.
