Stellar Performances and Community Spirit Shine in Latest Letterkenny AC Updates

In Buncrana the Furey Insurance 5km road race took place and as always the field was very competitive.

Congratulations to Ann-Marie McGlynn who won the women’s race in 16:07.

Ciaran Doherty ran a fine time of 15:33 followed closely by Philip McHugh in 15:44, Michael Black 16:38, Matthew Johnston 16:39, Michael Harkin 17:16, Enda McLaughlin 17:32, Dessie Shiels 17:41, Cian Friel 17:47, Stephen Woods 17:54, Colly O’Donnell 18:30, Fintan Smith 19:26, Peter Gallagher 19:49, Adrian Callaghan 20:35, Stephen Shiels 20:38 and Ray McDermott ran 22:50.

Congratulation to LAC athletes Natasha Adams and Noeleen Scanlon who placed 7th and 8th respectively in the 2024 VHI Women's mini marathon in Dublin. Natasha placed 7th running 36:08 while Noeleen was 8th running 36:15. Fantastic results for our women finishing in the top 10 out of 25,000 participants.

LAC meets Tuesday at 6.30pm for an interval running session, Thursday evening for a hill run at 6pm, Saturday morning at 9.30am for a tempo run and Sunday morning at 8am for a long run.

All runs start at the Aura. All levels catered for and encouraged.

Fit 4 Life which is run by LAC in conjunction with the Donegal Sports Partnership takes place every Monday at 5.45pm on the track at the Aura Leisure Centre Letterkenny.

The aim of the programme is to reach out to those who wish to improve their fitness and all are most welcome any Monday they choose to attend.

Fit 4 Life is not about speed but fitness and the coaches from LAC particularly welcome newcomers.
